Trends and classics

Magic Munich Blog: beiger Mantel von Hallhuber und weiße Crossbody Tasche von Rebecca Minkoff

In this post I want to talk to you about the trends and the classic style in fashion.

Thinking about a trend, I always think of the 80s. Looking at photos from that time, you always think that people dressed very strange and you wonder if they knew they looked ridiculous. Spoiler: they didn’t.

It’s not always easy to distinguish, if something is a trend or if this is a normal way to dress because you see a lot of people around wearing this kind of clothes. So it stays in your head, that this doesn’t look weird, although in fact, it does.

For example, tacking sweatpants into tennis socks. I bet this will look ridiculous in 10 years, but now you won’t even notice because in 2022 it is a run-of-a-mill look.

So when choosing your next outfit, ask yourself: is it clearly visible, when, or in what decade this piece of clothes was bought? If yes, it can be a temporary trend.

Try to buy only ageless clothing, plain classic cuts, with simple prints (stripes or dots) or no prints at all and “expensive” colors, and you will not have to facepalm seeing your photos in 20 years 😉
