Limit the Oversize

I have the impression that contemporary fashion forgets about the normal human body proportions. It tells us to wear oversize with oversize, which deforms the shapes and the total look. So we should limit the oversize clothes we wear in an outfit.

There is a timeless formula for combining the volumes: wear slim fit clothes with oversize clothes.

Currently we see the tendency from the 80s for wearing straight leg jeans with huge tops. The current fashion is trying to compensate the baggy clothes with tiny details, like a belt or naked ankles and wrists, which is definitely not sufficient.

Wearing a jacket with the shoulders 2x bigger than your own (influenced by the 90s) will make your proportions look ridiculously wrong. No one wants that.

Also wearing only slim and too sexy clothes is an obsolete fashion from the 2000s.

The secret is finding the balance and wearing some slim clothes with oversize pieces. An oversized jacket with skinny jeans (like here). An oversize blouse with a pencil skirt (like here). Palazzo pants with a slim top (like in the previous post)

My example here is a bodycon dress with an oversize trenchcoat. The outfit is showing the normal body proportions without being too sexy or too baggy.

So remember: balance is very important, not only in style but probably in every aspect of your life šŸ™‚
